Welcome to the Adventure Yachting
Update APRIL 2012
The Highlight this month was the Puerto Galera Easter Regatta. There were several cruiser yachts and racers involved with this Regatta.Little Swan of course was in the cruiser section.
The weather was fabulous with NE trade winds 5 to 15 knots at times.
Little Swan has done many regattas there and was familiar with conditions.
Little Swan was punished by a handicap of 22 minutes. The meaning of that is to allow other slower yachts to win the race.
Our start from the starting line was OK and soon we could see all the yachts ahead of us. Soon we started to reel in our competitors and passed them slowly. The home run was interesting as a yacht ahead of us, and possible winner, took a wrong line and Little Swan finished the race in first position. Hooray.
The next day (Saturday)all the cruiser started at their times and Little Swan too departed with no problems.
Today the NE winds were 15 to 25 knots and favoured the heavy yachts to do the 21 mile course. Little Swan was healing nicely and and speed was good. the tacking as also OK. The finishing line was looming up and were in 2nd place by 2 minutes.
My Crew and me were getting excited with the good results and started the 3d race on time and all was good in a 15 knot breeze. Little Swan likes this wind speed and half way through the race we were in 1st position. A buoy need to be rounded and 3 yachts converged at the same time to this point. We rounded the buoy and tacked leaving the yachts behind. Now it is a down wind home run and we were really putting on speed.
Little Swan passed the finishing line in 1st place for the cruising section. We were thrilled.
Thanks to my crew and Little Swan giving us a good time.
Toni

Best Wishes Toni owner/skipper of Little Swan Last Updated (Thursday, 09 February 2012 04:05) Latest News and Updates January 2012Happy New Year 2012Little Swan is now in Puerto Galera. The PGYC Christmas Regatta was a mixed success for us.The first race was not so good for Little Swan.We lost the plot so to speak and abandoned the race. The 2 to 3kts of current against us did not help. The 2nd race we did not participate due to social invitations. The last race was a downwind run and a 8 miles beat back to the finishing line. We managed 3d place. For January we have 4 people joining Little Swan for a 20 day cruise. We hope to visit Apo reef, Coron Island/town.Then to El Nido then back again via the Cuyo group of islands. Finally our home trip via Boracay and Maestro Island. We still have vacancies for cruises in February, March and April.
