After an early morning departure from Bora Bora.

Maupiti
|
We had a pleasant sail to Maupiti where we had to launch the tender so that Justine and I could check out the narrow entrance because of rolling waves and currents before Little Swan could pass through.
|
We had stroll around part of the island and Toni climbed to the peak,

we had a couple of relaxing days in the lagoon and on Sunday after Toni and Will attended church to listen to the Polynesian church singing we departed to Maupihaa . We arrived early the next morning but could not enter the lagoon as the pass was to narrow and the tide was flowing like a raging river. Our next destination was the Suwarrow Atoll in the northern group of the Cook islands, It is a national park with John, Veronica and their four children the current caretakers. The water in the lagoon was crystal clear and we experienced some beautiful snorkeling sites. |
There where a lot of black tip sharks around the yacht and in the snorkeling areas, Justine actually caught one on her fishing line. Four other boats where in the anchorage and on Saturday night we all contributed to a barbeque on the beach, John and his guitar provided the entertainment. During a rough and rolly-polly trip to Samoa we caught our best fish, a 1.8 meter Blue Marlin, just too much to land. |

In Samoa Willis departed to return to the States. We had a tour around the island and restocked, it was good to see the realistic prices in Samoa after the outrageous expense in French Polynesia for the same goods. A fast trip to Vavu’a Tonga where we were greeted by Whales as we arrived. This actually completed Toni’s TEN YEAR CIRCUMNAVIGATION and we celebrated this incredible achievement at the Vavu’a Yacht Club. |
| After a few days in Vavu’a we head south through the Ha’apai group and on to Nuku’alofa where I depart to Australia.
Thanks to Toni and crew and Little Swan for this exciting journey across the South Pacific
and hope to rejoin you all again in Fiji.
Signing off!
